Video program
Intoxications, visual trips with Wael Noureddine, Mounira Al Solh and Jan de Bruin. Video program curated by Nat Muller.
Intoxications, whether spiritual or induced by substance, often veer between a journey inwards and outwards. The experience is escapist – a loss of self – or even retrieval and assertion of self.
Program features:
- Mounira Al Solh (Lebanon/ Netherlands), Paris Without a Sea, 2008, 13 min. Paris Without A Sea is part of a larger project Al Solh has been conducting since 2007: The Sea Is A Stereo, an ongoing series of reflections on a group of men in Beirut who swim everyday at the beach no matter the circumstances: rain, wind, war, etc.
- Jan de Bruin (Netherlands), Silent Retreat, 2008, 4 min
- Wael Noureddine (Lebanon/France), A Film Far Beyond a God, 2008, 39 min 40 sec.
Showing Sunday evening starting at 7 p.m. at the Library at the Townhouse Gallery in Downtown.
