Sabri fears TV effect on big-screen career

Tunisian actress Hind Sabri has expressed fear about her big-screen career after establishing her small-screen presence during this Ramadan’s show marathon.

“Television is just so different from cinema. A TV actor reaches the audience directly into their homes, while in cinema, the audience get to choose what they want to watch, that’s why I turned down lots of TV scripts before accepting ‘Baad El-Foraq’,” Bahraini newspaper Al-Wasat quoted her as saying.

Asked about other differences, Sabri said: “Each one of them has its ups and downs, advantages and disadvantages. In cinema though, there’s much more liberty for the cameraman and director to go all-out creatively.”

Meanwhile, Sabri expressed her intention to try her hand at directing shorts and documentaries.

Mohamed Karim, Yousra El-Louzi Tour Theaters

In a promotional step, actors Mohamed Karim and Yousra El-Louzi toured some theaters during the past few days to check on their latest film ‘Qoblat Masrouka’ and catch up on the feedback from the audience.

While visiting the crowded theaters downtown, the actors made a stop at Cosmos. Karim surprised the audience when he started explaining some of the scenes and told them how some of the shots were taken; a first in the history of Egyptian cinema.

El-Louzi was surrounded by fans that crowded around her to take photos. Overwhelmed by her fans, she called for security to help her out of the crowd, leaving Karim to find his way out by himself.

‘Qoblat Masrouka’, which is scripted by Ahmed Saleh and directed by Khaled El-Hagar, stars Ahmed Azmi, Yousra El-Louzi, Mohamed Karim, Basem Samra and Randa El-Behiri.
